If you would like to find volunteer work with flexible scheduling, help seniors in your neighborhood who are unable to drive, then I CARE is the place for you. I CARE is a non-profit agency matching volunteer drivers with DeKalb seniors in need of free transportation to medical appointments and caring companionship. As a volunteer you let us know when, where and how often you can drive. We call you when someone requests a ride in your area and you tell us whether or not you can accept. Volunteers use their own cars and we will soon be able to reimburse you for some of your mileage to off set the high cost of gasoline. Many of our volunteers state that this is the most rewarding work they have ever done. Call Susan Allison at (404) 377-2273 for more details, or submit a volunteer application on-line at: www.ICARESENIORS.org.
